1) First you must remove the membrane from your rack of ribs before you start cooking them. The membrane is located on the back side of each rack; it holds each section together like glue.

To remove it simply take the tip of a sharp knife and slide it under one end of the membrane until you can get some leverage to pull slightly on it with your fingers to get it started.

Once you get one section removed, repeat the process on the other side and continue pulling until the entire membrane is removed.

2) The next step is to prepare your ribs for cooking. Start by cutting each rack into individual sections that will fit inside your weber grill or slow cooker; usually this means cutting them in half or thirds depending on how big they are.

Next, using a basting brush apply sauce (if desired) to both sides of each rib and place them back together and use butcher string to hold them together again if needed.

3) Now it’s time to add wood chunks can be added when placing the ribs directly over top of the coals in your Weber grill or if you are using a slow cooker, you can place the chunks of wood directly on top of the canned heat source.

Turn your weber grill or slow cooker on and maintain a temperature between 200 and 300 degrees Fahrenheit (93 to 148 Celsius). If using a Weber grill, add about ten briquettes every hour or two to keep it at that temperature;

if using a slow cooker with canned heat adjust how much you canned heat depends on the size of your weber grill.

4) Now it’s time for cooking! Let those delicious ribs smoke and slowly cook until they are ready to be enjoyed by all!

Keep an eye on them though as it is easy to overcook them this way – which will result in tough ribs instead of tender ones.

5) Once your ribs are cooked to perfection, carefully remove them from the heat source and place them on a wire rack over a baking sheet.

Allow them to cool slightly before cutting them into servings sized pieces with a sharp knife. Serve immediately or refrigerate until you are ready to use any leftovers.

6) To reheat simply turn your weber grill or slow cooker on for about ten minutes while you put any leftovers in it at about 200 degrees Fahrenheit (93 Celsius).

After this reheats, increase the temperature of the grill or slow cooker by 50 degrees Fahrenheit (28 Celsius) every hour till they get up to an ideal serving temperature which will vary depending on what type of meat was used originally.

You may also want to add some sauce to the ribs before reheating them.

7) Now that you know how to slow cook ribs on a weber grill, it’s time to try your hand at some delicious barbeque!

Get out there and experiment with different types of meat – beef, pork or even chicken can all benefit from slow cooking on a weber grill or in a slow cooker.

Find one that works for you and share your experiences with friends and family to see what they think!

Basics Ribs Smoked On The Weber Kettle

Prepping ribs in the traditional manner with a combination of smoke and slow, low heat is a wonderful way to cook them. But when your time is limited or when you’re just not in the mood for a lot of fuss, try cooking ribs over a banked fire using charcoal briquettes. It’s relatively easy and requires little supervision. Just remember that this arrangement does generate more heat than exposing all the coals at once to an even heat source from above – so adjust smoking times accordingly.
